The motion on Table is the ban of Etunda Irrigation products by the South African Market due to the outbreak of fruit flies @ Etunda. These insect deposits its egg on the fruit n the larvae bore into the flesh, therefore they can be transmitted from one farm to another through fruit transportation.
My worries are that, our top officers in the Ministry of Agriculture wants to blame South Africa for banning the Etunda products! The question arises that were are their Agricultural experts since they expect south Africa to honorally welcome their infected products (meaning to by their insects that are in those products), instead of telling the new manager to wake up and get out of his office to inspect his farm! I'm very familiar with Etunda Irrigation project, during the management of the late Mr Velli (he always go out and walk on foot doing his inspections to the crops) & I also familiar with the New Management, but the problem with the new manager is that he is ever in his office busy on the Telephone, therefore he won't detect the flies with time and spray the field!
Honorables, pls stop covering the insiders (Etunda personnel) and blame South Africans on banning the products. If you can't do it, resign n many unemployed Agricultural graduates can do it.

no need to blame South Africans, Namibian agricultural ministry should just learn how to get rid of those insects
who wanna import diseases to their countries??? im sure even the agricultural minister is not somebody with an in depth knowledge bout Agricultural things, he's just a good affiliate to Swapo and that qualify him for a ministerial post
presidents should be careful at chosing who to serve for what post, not choosing friends
i'm Fully Namibian but i support S-Africa for banning such infected product

I was very shocked to see the honorables on ma TV claiming that South Africans were suppose to give them a notice in advance on the ban! Who on earth will want to buy infected products, People do mean business, not like our Namibians who are being given posts due to their affluets to the big honorables. Imagine that how many millions are going to be released now to baile out Etunda Irrigation Project, just because of an incompetent individual who might not even know the meaning of a word (Pestcide Formulation), how is he gona takle the pests than! If he can't do it, he/she must step down and give chance to young graduates who are many changing to Education now due to unemployment in the industry.

The thing is though i can cry the same as you guyz, sum of these things re not to be shed on individual shoulder....As most of you may know, there are alwayz risks in business en mind you these types spread fast making it harder to control thus i can not squarely blame that to one personnel in de officer though he may contribute largely to the failure. Its tru there re dozens of Agric graduate in streets but do you really think they can handle that post? Coz i'm also familiar with Etunda management en i'm not here to defend its low points but juzt to straighten sumthing out. Banning is sumthing else as no one expected to be fruit fliers in Etunda thus no one should be informed in advice when products re to be banned. But the other thing is we as Namibian en most of Agric graduates do nothing at all en you can't expect sumone to came show you such post but rather walk harder en show that we can relatively handle such and thus i'm also putting blame on ourselves not showing to our Government that we re competent enough en for them not to give sum of these post to incompetent figures.

in business, we tlk and expect of risks and uncertainty! for that matter, i do not think if they can blame anybody for not informing them in advance, wen u are running a business, u must be ready always for such risks! i do not know why they have to blame south africa for that if there is a failure then it the business will suffer for it even if it is not its fault. now do you guys expect people to buy poor quality infested things into their place just because they did not inform in advance? that is the responsibility for the manager and not for south africa, so i do not know y they hae to blame south africa for tht. then em should learn then for the future!
