We've been waiting for a long time to hear news from the Deep Venture drill ship drilling offshore. Anyone have any information? What are you thoughts regarding a discovery? Would this be positive or negative for the people of Namibia?

About the Deep Venture drill , I can't say nothing.
What I can say , is that AFRICA is full of reserves of oil.
In fact Africa is a reserve of the world ,in everything. African people
have no idea how rich Africa is ( NOW) and is the HOPE for the
humankind.
BUT , unfortunately there is a but, and this one is very big BUT ,
mostly the oil in Africa is not good for use. In other words, for to
transform to a usefull oil ( for a car for exemple), that oil could
be reaching prices as $100.00 UNITED STATES Dollares , PER
LITER. And , the bad news , part of the world Reserves of OIL, are
in rock situation , so will take around 8 MILLION YEARS until be
ready any pratical use.
And this is the situation in all oil producters states.
For to be clear..... the price of oil per litr will increase about 10 times
more in the next couple of years , to the point .......this was it ..there is
no more.
The point is..... what is doing NAMIBIA about energy conservation ,
and alternative energy ( including the NUCLEAR POWER )????
Why you think that there are WARS going on in Iraque , Afgan., next in
Iran, but with a big eye in Venazuela,etc etc etc......????
Because the OIL is finishing , and the present society have no
big answers for that.
And now: in UK we are payng about 20.00 Namibian Dollares
for the unleaded 95 litr of petrol ( and the prices are incresing every
single day) Today lot's of Petrol Stations are EMPTY / run out of
petrol. From the society of " laisser faire , laisser passer " we are
coming to the "panic society ". What can be done???????

I hope if they are successful in finding Oil offshore, it will be a positive for Namibia. I sincerely hope that it will be used for the benefit of the people of Namibia, like the Diamond drilling and exports. There are fewer oil resources in politically safe countries, that is the problem. My research tells me that Namibia is one of the better democratic countries in Africa and good place to do business. Good luck to all the people of Namibia.
