The internet can be a fun place to meet new people and keep in touch with existing friends, but there are risks and dangers. If you're going to use the web, do it safely! Here are a few safety tips that everyone should consider before signing up for any new web site:

Never reveal personally - identifiable information online.
- It's like putting your picture and address on a billboard!
Never share your password with other people (except for your parents).
- Protect your personal info.
Never arrange meetings with strangers.
- There are creepy people out there.
Don't believe everything you read or see online.
- People lie.
Don't download files or software without your parents' permission.
- It could be dangerous for you and your computer.
Don't respond to inappropriate messages or emails.
- Don't give them the satisfaction.
Don't post inappropriate content.
- Nobody wants to see it.
Be leery of personal questions from strangers.
- You never know who you could be talking to.
Understand what you put online will be there forever, unless you delete your Tagged profile and separately any videos, or photos you uploaded to Tag.
- One mistake can last a lifetime.
If you are a teenager, talk to your parents about what you do online.
- Show off some skills.
If you are in school, follow the Internet use rules your parents and school have established.
- Breaking the rules can be fun sometimes, but when it comes to your safety, you gotta take them seriously.
