What is your Take on this one?

Of late we have witnessed the tag of war between the SPYL and the PHD fellow studying in Europe France, the fellow rise a concern about the youth league and its agenda in his weekly column in the Namibian Daily, the academic was simply giving his view about the conducts of some in the leadership of the Youth league and I think he might just touched their nerves when he mention the issue of opportunism, I for one also think that some of the Young ones might be using the league in their pursuit for top jobs in the Government, and by so doing, they might be forced to not only speak for themselves and the youth they claim to represent but for those in positions of power.

Nevertheless the youth league come out firing left and right, from Kunene to Karas accusing the academic of losing touch with the African politics, reasons being that he is educated in Europe. This notion I find to lack rational because most of the Youth league cadres are graduates of European Universities themselves, and that makes no sense to me at all.
However, I have my own advice to the league, the issue of power can be a blessing in disguise, ever head of a name Paulus Kapia? Some of you in the leaders of the league are well educated and should have no pressure to play pleasing politics, you should rather spend you energy debating the issues which are of concern to the Youth of this Nation, namely: Education, Unemployment Entrepreneurship etc, And they will make it to the top.

The current leadership is aging ant they are in line for the throne regardless, so why behave like “Mad dogs” to borrow the words of the Prime Minister?

Recent actions by the league include among others the compagin to remove the NBC board and its Director, the transfer of a certain Director in the Ministry of Finance, Zimbabwe etc.

An academic has the right to give his/her opinion of any developments, and i wonder why polititions always try to condemn the views of academics, is it out of jealousy because they are more educated than most of them or what? The problem with Namibian polititions is that they never admit they are wrong and they get frustrated when younger Namibians enjoy the benefits of the independence that they claim to have fought for, rather than being proud that they are the ones who made it possible.

Namibian polititions should get rid of their defensive attitudes and listen to advice from other people as well, especially academics like the Hengaris, the Du Pissanis, the Dischos, the Tottemeyers, and so on, these are the people who will help them make sound decisions.

You are right comrade, I thing that the tactic employed by our politicians is very outdated, they are sticking to it because it can give them parliamentary seats, it is working because the electorate is mainly rural based.

In the process, the liberal few are becoming victims if they dare to bring about change. that is not how it should be.
Government need to consult more before certain decisions it need to be accommodative, bring experts to the table rather than a parliamentary comity deciding on an issue beyond their capacity.
