Not too long ago we witnessed Britain successfully imposing a sanction on the Mugabe regime and later followed by the USA. Its still debatable but independent critical thinkers are putting the blame squarely on these sanctions for the current tension situation among civilians and economic melt-down in this southern African country, because as a result, many countries are not prepared to do business or get associated with Zim since they also fear similar isolation.
Just recently, the same countries proposed another sanction for Zim through UN although it was successfully vetoed out by two equally superpower countries.
In the wake of sanctions after sanctions, I would like to see a debate that discuss the impacts of this one of political mechanism and if it brought any desired results elsewhere.
But the most important question that I want to put across is; what are the success or of those first sanctions against Zimbabwe and how the Zimbabwean are benefiting from them?
