Before we goes ahead with our contribution, can i request mr. yourstrully to let us know on what the ministry have planned so far the 2010 world cup. how they prepare the player and the management before the qualification round kicks off. we always experience problem when everything comes while we have this opportunity to put things in their places.

GRN has tasked the certain Committtee led by Dr Shipoh, the PS in the Minstry of Sport. Shipoh and his 2010 Technical Comittee are expected to submit thier findings to government on May 12. From there, GRN will make thier position. At the moment, Namibia does not have any official position on 2010. And they are realy delaying. I hope this new Sports Minister will put pressure on these guys in the directorates.

Hasn't Mr Shipo gone for a new post as CEO of a certain diamond company. If so how is he going to venture much in the sport affairs?

Thanx for that. I didnt know he has been moved. I wil double check. Or else it will be treason if he is allowed to handle the 2010 commitee coming from a Diamond company. I will double check on it.

Greetings......

I was left with many questions saturday afternoon more than answers.......we won but only just and we were incredibly poor....after the Zimbabwe debacle...we had to celebrate because at least it was a win....and it was really amusing to see the brothers from the different dailys running on to the field after the final whistle...celebrating with all concerned as if we just beaten Guinea....but no it was Kenya...we are still to play the later and of coz Zim....i am sorry after the recent performances of Mr Sanchs team...it gives me nightmares thinking about what Benjani and company will dish out to our Beloved Brave Warriors.
Again we have decided to create an exclusive club of players to choose from....ignoring the form players....why or why is Jantze being ignored...the African stars pair of Ninja and Gertzen deserve a chance surely.......i found out that the reason Plaaitjies,Meraai and Letu were dropped is because he were suspended because of something that happened in Ghana and that is why they did not feature in the last game in Ghana.....but did the coach and the NFA feel they owe the Namibia public an explaination as to why some of these players were missing.....no....

In my humble opinion Kenya did not deserve to lose to Namibia....we were poor in all the aspects of the game.....the only shining light being the debutant W Risser. We had a big man winning everything in the air.....but the only balls he was getting were long clearances that the def fence kept hoffing up field....nothing came from the wings and from midfield.....despite having the majority of the ball....we created little....you have a target man but your wingers cannot cross the ball...it defies logic to say the least...who are the better crosseer of the ball in the Namibian game....i don't know....may be a Helu,Meraai,Getzen or Plaaitjies comes to mind....and the were not even called up.....they coach declares heads will roll after the Nasty Zim debacle....and what does he do....He drops Namibia's best player against Zim and keeps faith with Bredell who this days does not start for Civics because he doe a disappearing act now and then.....what does that do for Helu's confidence the next time he is called up....because we were so pathetic against Zim.....Q Jacabs had to play at all cost....but we know that he is currently club less and has been in the country for about month and a half with out playing any competitive football.....but thats how do things here.
Something tells me that our Mr Sanchs does not have much faith in his players....he just puts out a team and hope for the best...and that is the difference between him and the late Mr Bamfuchule may His Soul Rest in Peace.....He believed in the individuals he choose not what what the rest of us said.....but that i don't get from Mr Sanchs.

So this is how i saw it.

Mbaha 6....He did well....with very little support from his defenders especially on set pieces....did well to get down and make a fantastic save to his left from an Oliech's shoot in the first half ...i guess communication will always be an issue here and we will have to deal with it.
Gariseb 6...Despite his best efforts he is not a right back.....and it shows....because he lacks the most important thing a full back requires...and that is pace....for that he will alway come off second best in that position...i would prefer a Gurirab in that position....but with that said he was solid in enough....and maybe needs to shed a few kilos at that level.
Mbaisako 5 ...He is not the same player that plays for Ramblers when he plays for the braves....non of the strength marauding runs at left back that he produces week in week out....maybe its a lack of confidence or stage fright...it cannot be experience because he has been part of the set up for sometime...maybe Getzen should be considered here as an alternative.
Pienaar 6...post Ghana...the captain has been a big disappointment.....he will be the 1st to admit that his level has dropped considerably some are even calling for him to be dropped.....he is not aggressive enough and does not win as many ariel balls as he should....he seems to leave all the hard work for his partner.....he needs to work hard again....he is too relaxed.
Toromba 7...when was the last time he had an average game for the braves....He is simply head and shoulder the most important player for Namibia...and that is virtue of him being the most consistence performer for the better part of 2 years now....committed,unassuming strong in the tackle...quietly goes about his business without too much fuss.without him in the center of defense...we will be talking about a different result.
Jamu 7...Only those who play with him will tell what a great player this guy is...his tireless running and tackling in midfield insured that the Kenyan midfield had no time on the ball to create enough chance to create problems for us....sprayed the balls around with great authority....the sky is the limit for him.
Jacobs 6...He saw a lot of the ball but was unable to unlock the well organized Kenyan midfield and his lack of game time began to show in the second half....needs to start playing more direct than sideway to be effective.
Bredell 5...Another one who's form has gone down post Ghana.....he should not have been on the field on the 1st place in my opinion.....because he has been on the bench for his club for the past couple of months....i feel if he does not get a move soon ...his game will suffer.....needs too deal with his issues.
Kaimbi 5...he looked to have the beating of the opossing leftback everytime he ran at him......but what let him down was his crossing.......still young but he needs to start showing that he is improving.....has a great attitude.
Khaiseb 6...He was having a poor game until he scored the winner....but maybe the chances were not that many coming his way....in the end he probably had had one shoot at goal and he scored...that is all you ask from an attacker.
Risser 8...He was given his chance ....and he grabbed it in admirable fashion....and he took his goal with supreme confidence on his debut for that matter.....he gave us a lot of options...from defending from upfront to winning balls in the air and putting defender under pressure.if he keeps it up and find him the perfect foil....maybe a Meraai...maybe we'll have a chance...but all in all a great all round attitude....it was a pleasure to see.
P Jacobs 6...Came on at half time.....showed a willingness to run and chase....you feel he only needs a goal to explode....definitely one for the future..
Bester 5...He was completely off.....his attitude was right but.....nothing he tried came come....maybe be he tried too had..he had one fantastic effort that flew over the bar.
Tugela 6...He came on late...maybe should have come earlier.....things changed when he came on...was more direct than Jacobs.its a pity that the minute the foreign based are in the team ...he will alway make way for them....i feel with i little assurance from the coach he will grow is stature...he is class.

until next time....Blessed.

it was a disaster watching the brave warriors against zim. when we won against kenya everyone was happy even though we didn't play with the aim of winning. that game against kenya is worst than a village match and zim prove how weak we are. the coach didn't go there to aim for a draw or a win but to fullfill fifa rule of not missing a game. i moved out of my television heart broken when i found out our dream is cutted down by our boys. they plays like someone who missed dinner a night before the game.

i thought it will be as, praying for kenya to draw with zim but things turn out differently, as zim will aim for draw and win their other two game at home. what they are aiming is only for draw between namibia and guinea for them to go to the next round and thats something that's easy for them and their dream will be heard as guinea are hungly for points.

i agree with my man who ask for other players, why do we have do drop players while we aim for a win? where are likes of letu, swaartbooi, the katupotse twins, tjikizu, plaatyies and heinrich isaacks i asked last time if we are choosing between winning or disprine or friends who can play soccer? the katupotse did as a favour for securing our place in ghana and the master mr. late ben knows how to use them coz they well productive. our so called new coach started to use them at place that comes in his mind. a player knows whats good for him and where he can performe well.

lets talk of isaack and other players. the players who are good when playing for the national team. i was happy to hear the name brian gurirab but sad to see him sitting on the bench. having heinrich isaack on the left and brian gurirab on right, it will be a good game for us. both players are fast and good in distributing balls to strikers. they can keep the diffence busy and imagine having both of them including w. risser and katupotse inflont, we will win that game. issack and gurirab will deliver crosses for risser who is good in the air and katupotse who is good on the ground. tell if don't agree with me on this.

Vannico; thanks for the information.
It came a little late though.
I however differ with some o yo statements.
For instance, Heini Isaacks is still injured and may only be fit after October.
He has not kicked a ball in a year; since last May.

Tjikuzu has not played soccer for the past 8months but is contracted to a club. The same applies to Letu.
So fitness questions come into frame.
I agree with you on the point of Brian Gurirab.
I also feel like he is being under looked.
The Katupose twins are tied up with exams and will not be available through-out the qualifiers till September.
And Muna failed to prove himself to Arie Schans in the three times that he was used.
Personally, i think Tara is a better offensive holding man.
Merrai is playing but as i wrote a few months ago, it seems the coach prefers bigger players upfront.
And the coach seems not to take our advise on that one coz he says it may change his tactics.

Botes and Robert Nauseb are both injured. Botes has never played soccer in 13months now. The last time he tried to kick a ball he worsened his injury with another 6months.
Robert Nauseb asked to be excused from the national team last December in Germany when he got an injury. That same injury sidelined him from Santos and he only played twenty minutes this season in SA coz of the injury and has decided to quit the game.

The only other player we need in the team and is often underlooked is Sydeny Platjiees.

Now, here is the deal. After watching the Guinea game, i will give u space in the Informante to tell me what you think about the team and about 2010. So make sure you write to me on Monday next week.
That person who wrote in the paper is not following local soccer and at least now i have informed you on the season players' current perfomance.
And i expect a better arguement from you.

Regards.

NB: We don't have radio journalists in Namibia.
We have Radio Djs; hence you have a problem with the circulation of Namibian news esp sports section or match results.
