Though globalization became popular in Kochi in the last two decades, it has been an ongoing process. It however gained momentum when the Europeans came into contact with the locals and subsequently started to influence the way of living and doing business in Kochi. It reached some kind of climax in the last two decades due to the revolution in information and communication technology that has brought human beings and societies closer to one another than at any other time in history.
The concept can also be defined as “a set of processes that changed the nature of human interaction across a wide range of spheres that included the economic, political, social, technological, and environmental aspects”. Globalization is the process of integration of the world economy into a common system, either economic or social. It is “a process in which social life within societies is increasingly affected by international influences based on everything from politics and trade ties to shared music, clothing styles and the influences of the mass media.
The impact of globalization on Kochi’s real estate developments has been rather phenomenal. The Globalization factor in real estate development is now a widely used concept in this most happening city in Kerala. Even though it was a process that involved growing economic interdependence among nations in the international level, in Kochi, it involved growing economic clout and subsequent demand for more business spaces and Apartments In Cochin . Till now, no real estate developer is able to match the rising demand for built up space in urban Kochi.
