why do the goverment send students without knowing where they are sending them to?
Russian universities are the worst in the world, imagine a university without toilet pots? there's just a small hole and one kneel down like you're in the forest. you study in yo bedroom, wash in yo bedroom and cook in yo bedroom? mouse and other small Animals running around in the rooms. there's no internet in the universities
unless you got to internet outlesta nd pay $20, all my books where published before i was born, 1970-1987

i know you can't belive this but this is the truest truth

Education system is wack, there are 4-5 types of question papers and they're the same each year
student already have answers, and they just go paste during the day of the exams.
Namibian students are the least paid, the pocket money come delayed with 3 months
shame on the Namibian goverment for this. even yo teachers will insult you nd mock you
Negros they also study science, are there African scientists? and all stupid question to make fun of you

Namibians never chose Russia if you really wanna study to know what you're studying

"Mind yo business" comrade! So you are also in Russia, where? in Rostov?
You are saying the truth and it's my wish that you extend the message further, as far as Pohamba's ears.

That's a very seious issue.......We as Namibian students in Russia , have to work it out that our government will have to make some changes. We are having tough time here even better than someone burning in hell, so our government has to do something(thats our say).
But we are the government and to bring changes also depends on us. We are being called monkeys and other not good words that will even disturb your learning. I think to fight this'''' you guys'''' we need to tell our fellowers not to get into the same situation like us. We never knew this that's how we got into it....

that sounds terrible!

To those of you guys studying in Russia: I'M REALLY SORRY, I think everyone is suppose to enjoy every bits of their undergraduate years without soo many heartaches.

anyway, keep the faith and hold on. Everything will soon be fine. I think the best solution is INFORMING THE GOVERNMENT.
Hang in there.

Okahao you re talking sense. However, discouraging our fellows is not the best approach to this barbaric predicaments we are encountering. I believe you still remember that your/our being here is inline with our vision 2030, not forgetting a need for tertiarly institutions in our motherland. Hence, we have to improve the situation for us and those to come. We have a Union, but every year people are meeting for funny in Moscow than fighting the situation with vigour and determination. One thing i have reliazed is-poor management of the union and sincere ignorance of the union by students themselves. Just imagine our failure to pay union fee, where have you seen a car running without fuel? Annually meeting attendance, only those remained after new year party and the list goes on. Such factors contributed and are still a headache to NamSURF.

Let's stand up for a better union which will bring smiles to our faces!!!!!!!!! Okahao you are from Kazan, right?

some of us have forgoten campus life, we're just memorising everyday, with an empty stomach, go on the streets you may wish to buy a cap to close yo ears coz insults just too bad to bear
the goverment should do something, atleast they must show us some love by increasing the pocket money, so maybe we will torelate the insults till graduation. we get US$200 PER MONTH and the rest of African countries get 300 and mor. we buy even question papers, fail ad buy marks, please this is not education
It's been going on and on for years but why our goverment slugish at solving problems?
in Namibia we got decorated and damn beautiful pamphlet, study in russia which arejust lies
i consider studyin somewhere again after this wack degree

Make sure every Namibian hear about it

The Union is more like the ministry of education, it ignore s\tudents and listen tot he ministry
i once tried to attend theirmeeting but they denied me acces to it, sayin i talk to much
it's true i'm a thug and they fear my comments coz i've a voice, Pohamba supposed to know what we go through or maybe he know and choose to bactrack on going against the so-called Russian relatioship
they say we're the goverment and Namibia is said to be good of freinds with Russia but hell no russia like a black man and i wonder why the 2 goverments are in love or maybe ineral resouces buy love too
the union aint supposed to be affliated with the ministry of education,

and i beg it breaks up with them and let students run it and express their problems to the fully

But mind your business where are you based in Russia? This is a good post that you posted, but somehow, somewhere you re not convincing nowonder you posted our problems under Kiss and Love affairs section. How can you suggest that the union should break up ties with the ministry? Who's the ministry and who's the government?

I said the union is for students and it should co-operate with all students, they try to defend the ministry of education, every year people are arguing about avoidable delays of pocket money

i know they are relaxing too much in Windoek, forgetting that they have sent some warriors overseas

Thank for you good points Mr Amin Dada........How come that you just find out that I m from Kazan? You got to the point, I m from Kazan..
The idea you brought up about the Moscow meeting is one of the things also we need to put in ahead to make things work well. The thing is, I heard that the meetings that people do there they dont use the real purpose of the meeting, since its like they go there to meet their friends. I can't refuse coz I had no idea what people do there coz as I look at it its like for fun too. I dont see solutions those people came up with nor their main interest..
And the other thing that I think makes things not go well, I heard people only choose each other depends on their social warfare and not to check wether the person is intelligent and knowing if he/she can do the job.. So I think more attention is needed in all this matters.
How do you think?

I think is serious, why don't you address ur problems through the right channel, you think Pohamba will read this forum? And have you tried to pay your union fee yourself? I think you should discuss at a right platform for ur voice to be heard and make a meaningful contribution. Students buying question papers, have urself bought one, I think this is real serious and the goc should forgot sending students there. Is it all University do this, or just yours? But I know a russian graduate, and he real sharp at work and know what he is doing, I was just concern when u said students are buying marks and question papers. About the money, i think 200 is real small, and I think you should discuss it as students. But how come u were not allowed to attend the meeting, because through this u will be able to elect students u think are capable. But I also heard that the conditions are not that conducive, may be the gov should stop sending students to Russia or may be consider only some Universities, or is all the Universities the same?

Eevrywhere in Russia,90% of the universities students buy marks, buy the teacher a champeign and you'll get yo merit in year end exams, we try to complain but the complains never reach Namibia, or maybe it reach there and they choose to ignore, we have question papers alredy since they were set years ago and they never change.

THE GOVERMENT IS REALLY BLIND TO SEE WHERE TO SEND STUDENTS WHO WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE FUTURE

Thi is serious, I am tryin to imagine what damage it can do to Namibia, I know of manny people studing Medicine, and if that is the situation, it could be worse than Cuba.

I say pls, write an open letter to the prime minister or something, this is horrible.

Yeah, its serious! Okahao you re on the right track so far and Indeed mind yo business. However, just like one of our comrade said; this is not the right scene to outview our problems. Our voice need to be heard and we should start by writing articles to newspapers, the namibian for instance. But let's just be logic and realistic!! Here's thier e-mail address: letters@namibian.com.na

Let's all of us write letters to the namibian with immediate effect. I'm optimistic that they will publish some if not all and that reflect a good start when the issue becomes public. I'm going to Namibia and I will take this issue up with the relevant Authority procedurarly, however if they will try to give empty promises and sincere ignore me I will step in Nahas's Office on this Issue. NB H.E Dr. Nujoma's slogan: Individuals working together for a common interest of the society will always emerge victorious!!!!!!!!

I think all they need to do is to discuss about it in the parliament, the minister of Education should take it there
and let the truth be known about European universities so people will make good decisions of where to go further their studies than going to spoil talents and sharp brains, like some of us regret all the efforts trying to go study abroad
Imagine a hostel card is a big kind-of a box that can't fit in the pocket of yo jean, and they used glue-stick to attach yo photo on the card, no blooms no mops in the hostel, believe it or not we use OLUHWATI to clean the floors, that's Europe
