I have a friend who has a kid but that kid does't know how to speak his mother language. he only speaks africaans and english. His parents both speak oshiwambo. The funny thing about the whole story is that the mother is proud that the son doesn't speak oshiwambo!!! Why is it that some people want to disown their mother languages and pretend as if they don't have an origin/culture? I would be really ashamed to have a son who doesn't our mother language!! What do you guys think?

Fellow Namibians, this is so emberasing. your mothers' language is ur language, who do u expect to speak your language if you're not doing it? we must respect our languages, our own mother languages. the mother of the kid is to be blamed since she's happy with the situation of her son. how will the kid talk to the grandparents........ u've got no vision if u're like this.

Good luck for you for entering NEW ERA world for to know foreign languages better than your mother-tongue..... but i doubt there in Europe if people are dying to speak Oshiwambo, Herero or an African Language. Mhhh how many Europeans in Namibia speak Oshiwambo, Herero, Setswana, and so on?
