They say: " If you want to hide something to a black man, put it in a book". As an avid reader, I find that phrase to be true. I have gained so much knowledge from books, newspapers and magazines that I read every day. This helped in my personal growth and development.
I can now express myself with authority on almost any subject. However I believe there is still much that I need to read, which is why I'm asking you to share with me what you read about.
Let's share...

This is a discussion you need to read!
Enjoy it. I did!
this is what i have read in my inbox, and i decided to share it with you.
it is called THE CONVERSATION IN HEAVEN
GOD: Angels, do you know what I was just thinking about?
ANGELS: What were you thinking about?
GOD:Christians seem to have forgotten what kind of power they have available and the devil keeps on deceiving them!
ANGELS: God, exactly what are you driving at?
GOD: I have made my children in such a way that when the people of the world are sitting, they would be standing, when the world is standing, they will stand out, when the world stands out, my children must be outstanding and when the devil dares the world to be outstanding, my people will be the standards to be used!
JESUS CHRIST: They (Christians) are also forgetting the words in
Ephesians 1:3.
GOD: Please read it out!
ANGEL: PRAISE BE TO THE GOD AND FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST , WHO HAS BLESSED US IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES WITH EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING IN CHRIST.
ANGEL: So what do we do now since the end is almost near?
HOLY SPIRIT: My Presence is still among men and I will teach and remind the Christians of all that we have discussed. I will also make sure that they pass this message on!
JESUS CHRIST:I will also keep on interceding for them and stand in for them even in their weaknesses.
GOD: I will also make sure that I give to all those who ask of me, seek me and try to find me . The blessings I have promised them through my son Jesus Christ will be delivered to all those who discover that I, Jehovah, I am ready to bless them! Not because of any special things that they have done, but just because I LOVE THEM!
JESUS CHRIST:I will also give all my followers who are willing to pass this conversation on, enough strength to carry on!
ANGELS: We are all backing THE TRINITY and even the devil cannot stop us! How funny! Christians are finally taking over and .........
DEVIL (eavesdropping behind the gates):
I hope you all heard! I will deploy more troops (demons) and make sure the Christians pray less, read their Bibles less, preach less and make sure this mail does not move anywhere! Also.....
YOU SURE HEARD THAT! THE DEVIL WILL MAKE SURE YOU DO NOTPASS THIS ONBUT PROVE HIM WRONG AND SHOW HIM THE POWER YOU HAVE IN CHRIST JESUS AS A CHRISTIAN. PRAY MORE, STUDY THE WORD MORE AND PREACH THE WORD

@ 2wa. I have read Capitalist Nigger. It can be a life changing book. However not everyone agrees with Chika Onyeani's bashing of black people.
"count of monte cristo" and "shall we tell the president", these seems to be interesting books. What are they about?

@ 2wa
Yes, Chika Onyeani the author of Capitalist Nigger is a Nigerian based in America. It's a must read. (Available in CNA Wernill Park)
What I like about Capitalist Nigger is that Onyeani encourages the black race to be owners of productions rather than just consumers of products from other races.
I think we must all read Robin Sherbourne's "Guide to the Namibian Economy 2009". (especially the politically minded).

Reading is my hobby and if I list the book I read just in last 5 years I don't think they will fit here some of them that I can remember are:
1. Long walk to Freedom
2. Where other weaved
3. Rich Dad, Poor Dad
4. Kassinga events
5. Die with me
7.Wanashipolo....
8. Nambwa onhoni yamwatyeka...
9.Ohombo omwene....
10.Climate change into the 21st century etc.
those are only few that I can remember now, I do read everyday the local newspapers, ocassional read The Bible, some magazines and online publications such as different journals in my professional field.
Nowadays I am not reading much general reading as I am busy with my studies and just finished to read a horror story title "Interview with the Vampire" by Anne Rice as part of my studies.
Here is why I Value Reading:
We read because through reading we acquire new Ideas, obtain needed information, seek support for our ideas and broaden our interests and hobbies.
We read mostly non-fiction books because provide us with facts and assist us with information when we are doing researches or completing assignments. By reading non-fiction books, we also acquire knowledge of different aspects of life, for example the field of science and technology, and other pertinent information about the universe.
We read newspapers because through the newspapers we become more informed and provided with up to date news, which may be local, national or international. Apart from political news, we also get information about sport, economics and weather forecast. Newspapers make us aware of what is happening in the world
More so, reading helps to develop countries; to develop economically, socially and politically. It helps one to understand the constitution, government policies and legal documents. Reading makes one to analyse things critically and not to accept things at face value. It makes one to understand the contracts and agreements he or she is going to commit himself or herself.

True that Kachokwe
I just got myself an August copy of a bi-monthly magazine " Destiny Man" (available in Pick & Pay for N$33.00).
Destiny Man is a South African business and lifestyle magazine for man which was launched in June this year. So this is only a second edition.
In this edition their main article is about Sizwe Nxasana a CEO designate of FirstRand the holding company of FNB.
In the first edition they featured a Hotel mogul Sol Kerzener who founded the legendary Sun City Casino resort and owner of the Palm in Dubai.
I recommend Destiny Man to all Corporate and Enterpreneural minded members of this forum.
For ladies I recommend the sister magazine "Destiny" a business and lifestyle magazine for womem.
Both Destiny Man and Destiny are owned by Khanyi Dholomo a former editor of True Love. Get yourself copy and share with us what you think of these magazines.

I recently read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki thanks to recommendation by Nameless and Kachokwe.
Like many commentators; I wish I had read this book when I was 9. But it's never too late anyway. Lessons from this book are life changing. If one reads it and implement what is prescribed in it you can easily become another Aupa Indongo.
I also read other books about the first whites who arrived in Namibia in the 1800s. The most interesting of them is Charles Andersson a Swedish trader who use to trade in ivory (omayoo eendjaba) (There is a school named after him in Ongwediva).
In these books I came across a story where King Nehale lyaMpingana killed the President of the boer Republic Upingtonia and took his wife.
Republic of Upingtonia was based around Grootfontein, Tsumeb, Otavi area. It was created after King Kambonde kaMpingana (Nehale's brother who ruled the other half of Ondonga) sold the land to one coloured man who later brought trek boers who were suffering and had nowhere to settle.
So if it was not for Nehale lyaMpingana we could have ended up with a boer country within Namibia.
